School Farms is a rural community-based school feeding support program that empowers local community schools to grow their own food whilst creating a space to help students gain practical skills and explore opportunities in Agriculture. Community schools are increasingly faced with the challenge of funding school meals due to limited government support, the rise in food cost and market failures. School Farms seeks to ensure the availability, utilization and access to school meals. It recognizes the link between education, nutrition and skill development and is improving access to all. School Farms Community schools are supported to grow their own organic food. School Farms prioritizes the growing of staple crops, vegetables and fruits. School Farms provides a cost-effective and sustainable solution to school meals. School Meals With produce from the farm, schoolchildren are offered a sustainable in-school nutritious meal for healthy growth and mental development. School Meals increases school attendance, retention and active teaching and learning activities in schools by more than 25 percent. Agriculture Skills Development for Young People We empower young people to perceive agriculture as a remunerative and prestigious profession and to find meaningful economic opportunities and attractive environments in rural areas. We link our Farms to Skills development through experiential learning. Our Agriculture Skills Development Manual provides a comprehensive, practical, relevant and fit for purpose knowledge for Agriculture skills acquisition and entrepreneurship. School Farms is a flagship project of Reach Out to Future Leaders Movement, a youth-led community-development focused organization incorporated by law in Ghana with registration number CG040722013.

Yes! We met our target in 7 days.

Leonie Mills volunteered to raise GHc 1000 for School Farms project in 7 days.. We were successful. This money will be used to purchase some more seeds and farming equipment for our project. We will purchase 2 wheelbarrows, hand forks and some additional seeds for the project. At School Farms, we empower local schools to produce their own complementary food crops and also help these young people acquire practical and entrepreneurial skills in agriculture through our Agriculture Skills Development Program.
